Get HTTPS | Stay Secure

  1. HTTP refers to the protocol through which all data and communications are sent between a user’s web browser and any given website.

  2. Data exchanged through a HTTP connection is sent as plain text therefore making it possible for a hacker to both interpret and manipulate this data.

  3. HTTPS ensures that all data sent between a website and one’s browser is not sent as plain text but instead is encrypted.

  4. This means that even if someone did manage to be a middleman and monitor a user’s connection, with HTTPS , they would not be able to interpret or manipulate any of the data.

  5. Leaving your customers safe to enter and interact with your website.

Certbot is part of EFF’s larger effort to encrypt the entire Internet. Websites need to use HTTPS to secure the web. Along with HTTPS Everywhere, Certbot aims to build a network that is more structurally private, safe, and protected against censorship.
